Una pipa, del tabacco, un uomo seduto ad un tavolo: tanto basta per descrivere un momento di intimità. Il fumo sale lento con la testa che ripensa ad una storia. Una storia di uomini e pipe. Una storia, come quella insita in ogni pipa, che parla di vizio e possesso. In questo spettacolo di teatro d’oggetti, un uomo ripercorre le tappe di un viaggio in mare, una migrazione, i vari personaggi che l’hanno vissuta e le loro pipe: un capitano con la sua pipa di granturco, un giovane migrante con la sua pipa di radica, una donna che fumava una pipa bianca. E, accecato dal fumo negli occhi, l’uomo racconta l’illusione della storia di lei e di lui perché, come nel famoso quadro di Magritte, “Questo non è un amore”.

A pipe, some tobacco, a man sitting at a table: that’s enough to describe a moment of intimacy. The smoke slowly rises as his mind recounts a story. A story of men and pipes. A story, like the one inherent in every pipe, that speaks of vice and possession. In this piece of object theater, a man retraces the stages of a sea voyage, a migration, the various characters who experienced it and their pipes: a captain with his corn pipe, a young migrant with his briar pipe, a woman smoking a white pipe. And, blinded by the smoke in his eyes, the man recounts the illusion of her and his story because, as in Magritte’s famous painting, “This is not love.”
