“Marco! Ho avuto una visione per la tua commedia: I burattini continuano a mangiare
le salsicce di mister Punch. E mangiano, mangiano, mangiano. Arlecchino sta
male. Il dottor Balanzone gli estrae dalla gola quel famoso anello del mago. Questo
anello qui. Con questo lui scrive le commedie (Glielo consegna) I burattini scoprono
che sotto di loro non c’è nessuno… I burattini si sono mangiati il mago Balaton! Il
popolo della bidonville travolge il casotto e lo riduce a un cumulo di macerie. La
ressa si contende i burattini. Ne strappano i vestitini, smembrandoli in mille schegge
per farne sacre reliquie”. L’animatore- narratore è un burattinaio. Sta scrivendo su
commissione una commedia ispirata ai miracoli nel Vangelo. Il committente, un prete
burattinaio, è presente sulla scena e assiste alla nascita della storia.
English version
“Marco! I had a vision for your comedy: The puppets continue to eat Mister Punch’s sausages.
And they eat, eat, eat. Harlequin is sick. Doctor Balanzone extracts that famous
magician’s ring from his throat. This ring here. He writes his comedies with it (He hands
it to him) The puppets discover that there is no one below them… The puppets have eaten
the magician Balaton! The people of the shanty town overwhelm the hut and reduce it
to a pile of rubble. The crowd fights over the puppets. They tear off their clothes into a
thousand splinters to make sacred relics”. The animator-narrator is a puppeteer. He is
writing a commissioned play inspired by the miracles in the Gospel. The commissioner,
a puppeteer priest, is present on the scene and witnesses the birth of the story.
