Buchty a Loutky (Cakes and Puppets) è un gruppo di teatro dei burattini alternativo che produce ed esibisce spettacoli per bambini e adulti.
Buchty a loutky è stata fondata nel 1991 in un dormitorio studentesco a Cheb, West Bohemia, da neolaureati del Puppetry Department at the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (DAMU). Da allora, la troupe ha scritto ed eseguito 60 produzioni, tra cui diversi film d’animazione, e molti progetti unici nel campo del teatro alternativo, della musica e del cinema, spesso combinando tutti questi generi. Per la maggior parte del tempo, la troupe è in tour e offre circa 250 spettacoli all’anno in tutta la Repubblica Ceca e all’estero.

When Judy challenges Punch to care for their screaming baby, he decides to handle
everything his own way, including Judy and the other characters. But when death
finally comes, the real drama begins. How will it end? It’s anybody’s guess.
Buchty a Loutky (Cakes and Puppets) is an alternative puppet theatre group producing and performing plays for children and adults. Buchty a Loutky was founded in 1991 in a student dormitory in Cheb, West Bohemia, by recent graduates of the Puppetry Department at the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (DAMU). Since then, the troupe has written and performed 60 productions, including several animated films, and many unique projects in the fields of alternative theatre, music, and film, often combining all these genres. For much of the time, the troupe is on tour and gives around 250 performances a year throughout the Czech Republic and abroad.
