The company's "cult" show, with its 1,000 performances, has toured the world making known the company's unique contemporary artistic journey based on dramaturgy through images and an original animation technique on sight. Pinocchio is a show in which images, music and animation come together creating a playful atmosphere full of color, which is what Pinocchio's great circus is. Suitable for even the youngest children, it has been performed in almost all European countries, in Africa(Tunisia), in the Middle East (Israel), in Asia (Japan, Taiwan), as a representative of Italian culture in the field of puppets and marionettes.

Teatro del Drago is the company of one of the oldest Performing Arts Families active in the puppet and marionette industry since the first half of the 19th century: the Monticelli Family. Brothers Mauro and Andrea, the current Artistic Directors together with Roberta Colombo, represent the fifth generation of this unbroken tradition. The activity is carried out on two fronts: that of tradition, with traditional puppet shows and the preservation of materials from the Monticelli Collection; and that of research, through contemporary puppet theater shows in which a personal artistic line, original both in the use of materials and in animation techniques, is realized. The research project is supported by the preservation and transmission of the field of traditional puppets and marionettes, with an awareness of the cultural importance of its historical roots.
