The photo exhibition dedicated to the figure of the great puppeteer Otello Sarzi, in the centenary year of his birth (1922-2022), was made possible by the generous availability of 6 great photographers: Alfonso Zirpoli, Claudio Salsi, Enrica Scalfari, Gianni Berengo Gardin, Giovanni Biccari and Vasco Ascolini. Each of them met Otello at different times in his life, fixing in the shots not only the character and the artist but also the charisma and humanity that Otello was able to arouse in each, often matured in deep friendships and subsequent collaborations. Each photographer conveys to us with his shots, a personal and unique image of the subject: Othello's confrontation and friendship with Cesare Zavattini captured by Berengo Gardin, the evocative theatrical hands of the artist proposed by Alfonso Zirpoli, the expressive masks of puppets and puppets that Vasco Ascolini brings back to us, how Enrica Scalfari celebrates Federico Fellini's curiosity for Othello's art, Claudio Salsi's evocative portraits that honor his magical figure, while Giovanni Biccari stops Othello in his classic puppet gesture. The overall suggestion that the photographic installation conveys to us is of considerable emotion, the photographic quality is rewarding of the quality of the subject, restoring to the figure of Otello Sarzi that very special aura that Otello built throughout his artistic life, where the values of friendship, solidarity and generosity accompanied the innovation and experimentation of his art.
