The 47th edition of the Festival is dedicated to travel, the most personal of pleasures as Vita Sackville West defined it. A right and a pleasure that is not always respected, but that cannot be denied to imagination and memory. Among the memories of travelling, the postcard is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful: the thought of someone from afar, the image of an imagined world framed in a few centimetres of paper. But the postcard is also a great means of communication: with its familiar format, its affective component, it has always been an excellent means of telling and symbolically recounting oneself, with a few significant signs, in the capacity of graphic synthesis.
This year the Festival will devote several initiatives to the theme of the postcard: the vintage, yellowed postcard of memory, of course. But also postcards as an art form capable of constantly renewing itself and keeping up with the contemporary world. This is why the Festival is looking for new postcardsof new real or imaginary journeys to add to the collection. Finally, the postcard that becomes a message of peace capable of transcending geographical boundaries.
The postcards received will be printed and displayed in the exhibition 10X15 Figure Theatre travels by postcard during the days of the Festival, where it will also be possible to buy them. The proceeds will be donated to associations engaged in the assistance and reception of Ukrainian refugees.
