ANNULLATO Dings (Ammaccature) – Masterclass di teatro d’oggetti con Ariel Doron
DINGS (Dents)
Masterclass in object theater with Ariel Doron
May 22, 23 and 24, 2023 - House of Cultures, Piazza Medaglie d'Oro 4, Ravenna
10:00 am - 4:00 pm with lunch break
Intensive masterclass to delve into the world of objects, open to animators, actors, dancers, playwrights, visual and performing artists, professionals and amateurs
During the masterclass we will explore the onstage presence of the "ready-made" object, and how the object itself, from being a mere prop, can become a protagonist and allow us to imagine, think and feel as no body can. The "ready-made" object is an inseparable component of every art form and every aspect of society, and offers a playful context for exploring different themes, from the most personal to the political, in a poetic language whose rules we construct with the viewer. It allows us the freedom to create poignant stories and grandiose performances with minimalist and low-cost means, and is a great way to experiment with projects of all kinds. The masterclass takes the form of a highly practical, hands-on workshop, during which we will experiment with a wide variety of objects in both individual and group exercises to explore aspects and potentialities of the object in relation to us on stage. The exercises will address issues of animation, physical theater, composition, set design, directing, acting, dramaturgy and visual arts. From the exercises we will learn together how to develop a short, and participants will be invited to create a short workshop outcome. A first step for a new project, or to accompany the development of an existing work. Participants are asked to bring objects of the type and size they prefer, which we will then explore together. Objects related to projects already completed or in the process of being completed are also welcome, as is anything you feel would be interesting to analyze. In addition, participants are asked to bring an object that is close to their heart and with which they have an emotional relationship.
