Anche Orlando, che è il capitano generale e il più valoroso, ha abbandonato la corte, e a re Carlo non rimane che affidarsi a Rinaldo il comando dell’armata francese. Seguono battaglie, fughe, scontri con esseri fantastici. Anche Rinaldo finisce per trascurare il dovere, e infiammatosi d’amore per Angelica, la contende ad Orlando. I due paladini si sfidano a duello, e si sarebbero sicuramente uccisi a vicenda se a dividerli non fosse intervenuto il mago Malagigi. Questo episodio, che è uno dei più rappresentativi del ciclo dei paladini di Francia, concentra in poco più di un’ora l’ intreccio di varie puntate. La compagnia punta in questo modo al rinnovamento dell’Opera dei Pupi, ma resta fedele alla parte più viva della tradizione e ne ripropone tutte le sorprese, le macchinerie e le meraviglie teatrali che si possono desiderare dal teatro dei Pupi tradizionale.\nEnglish version\nParis is threatened with siege, but numerous paladins have left Charlemagne’s court and, filled with love for Angelica, have started looking for her. This episode, which is one of the most representative of the cycle of the paladins of France, concentrates the intertwining of various episodes in just over an hour.
